  • Drazukville – Mob Actions!

    Updated the Area Editor and Drazukville today to work with “mob actions”. In the editor, this works like mob conversations, you can create an action with a type, assign it a % to happen each tick, and then the action text. The “talk” and “emote” actions (where the guard is strutting proudly and saying all is well) can only be seen by the player if they are within 6 cells of the mob. The “whisper” action can only be heard within 3 cells of the mob. The “shout” can be heard from the mob’s area and every area around the mob. This should help liven up the world a bit (:

  • Drazukville – Text Update (;

    So I’ve been busier than normal at work lately, so haven’t made any huge advances, but I have been working on the game.

    Biggest change right now I’ve been refactoring things to try to make the codebase smaller and easier to work with. I had a lot of redundant code that I was able to combine, and things still work, so that’s a good sign.

    Combat works, but it’s pretty clunky right now. You start combat, and swing back and forth on ticks, and can utilize skills that have cooldown timers based on ticks, but it’s a bit clunky right now. It does work though, you can kill things or get killed.

    Also did a lot of cleanup around how the panels work, and they now respect the ESC key a lot better; you can close any open panel or inventory with ESC, cancel any actions, and if you’re just standing there, then it opens the game menu and pauses the game…just like a real game!

    Once I get combat hammered out, I think the main features will be in and we can start making some areas and see how things feel, get the game to some friends and see what they think about it so far. Stay tuned!

    Well, this is the first post on the new site. It will probably disappear once we figure out how to make the rest of this shit work right. Whee!
